A 9-Step Guide to Overcoming Your Fears

Fear is a choice; don’t let it control you!

Many people have overcome their fears by facing them head-on. Today we know that sometimes our greatest threats come from within rather than outside ourselves. It can be just as threatening, if not more so because you don’t understand why or how this could happen to you.

Suppose someone was afraid of the dark, for example. They might avoid going outside after sunset for fear of monsters hidden in total darkness waiting patiently until unsuspecting prey walked right into their trap.

It’s time to take back control of your life. You’re not alone, and there are ways you can overcome these fears! Here we go:

1. Identify the fear

What is it that you’re so afraid of? Why do some people have such an intense reaction to a simple situation? What can they learn from their fear? Some call it “fear,” while others point out the obvious. Our greatest dangers come not through external sources but rather within ourselves. Here lurks something more terrifying than any ghostly apparition waiting at every turn on this planet Earth — namely anxiety itself!
