I’m Living the Dream in the Sun-Kissed Lemon and Olive Groves of Andalusia
You can live the dream too!
I’m all American. Born and raised in the Midwestern state of Indiana. Now I live on the Mediterranean coast of Spain in the heart of Andalusia’s olive and lemon groves.
I live in a beautiful old Spanish farmhouse in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera mountains. The views are spectacular. Each and every morning, I wake up and count my blessings.
I never planned to live in Spain or set that as one of my goals. Looking back on my life now from the standpoint of age 60, it’s as if my life just unfolded. One decision led to another, then to another, until I found myself here in Spain.
After college, I was offered 3 jobs, and I chose one in New York City. A few years later, my husband’s company wanted him to spend time in Germany. As I speak German, I arranged a secondment to Frankfurt for that time. This eventually led to a permanent job offer in London, England.
London was great, but we hated the dreary weather. Spain was our sunny getaway destination. The more time we spent in Spain, the less we ever wanted…
